About Fictivize
A community-driven platform connecting fiction authors with readers, one episode at a time.
Our Story
Fictivize was born from a simple observation: the traditional publishing model is broken for most fiction writers. Authors spend months or years completing manuscripts before knowing if anyone wants to read their work. Meanwhile, readers miss out on discovering new voices because the barriers to publication remain stubbornly high.
We believed there had to be a better way. What if writers could share their stories as they write them, building an audience from the very first chapter? What if readers could discover new authors early and follow along as narratives unfold, episode by episode?
Our solution is Fictivize — a platform designed from the ground up for serialized fiction. We launched with a clear purpose: to connect storytellers with readers in a way that benefits both. Writers get immediate feedback and a growing readership while they write. Readers get fresh content delivered in digestible episodes, with the thrill of following a story as it develops in real time.
Our Mission
Fictivize exists to democratize fiction publishing. We are building a community where any writer can find their audience, and any reader can discover stories they love — without gatekeepers, without waiting, and without barriers.
We envision a world where serialized fiction is recognized as a legitimate and vibrant form of storytelling. A world where emerging writers can build sustainable careers by connecting directly with engaged readers. And a world where readers have access to an ever-growing library of diverse, high-quality fiction that reflects the full range of human experience.
Our Core Values
Accessibility — Publishing should be open to everyone. We keep Fictivize free for readers and writers alike, removing financial barriers that prevent great stories from reaching their audience.
Community — Stories are better when they are shared. We foster genuine connections between writers and readers, creating a supportive ecosystem where creativity thrives.
Quality — We believe in the power of great storytelling. Through thoughtful curation and editorial guidance, we help readers find stories worth their time and help writers develop their craft.
Transparency — We are honest about how our platform works, how we use your data, and where we are headed. You deserve to know what happens behind the scenes.
How Fictivize Works
For Readers
Fictivize makes it easy to discover and enjoy serialized fiction:
- Browse and Discover: Explore stories by genre, tag, or curated collection. Our editorial team hand-picks standout stories so you always have something good to read.
- Read at Your Own Pace: Stories are published in short episodes, typically around 1,000 words each. Read one episode during a coffee break or binge an entire series in an afternoon.
- Follow Your Favorites: Keep track of stories you love and get notified when new episodes are published. Never lose your place in an ongoing narrative.
- Join the Community: Connect with other readers and writers who share your taste in fiction. Discuss plots, recommend stories, and become part of a growing community of book lovers.
For Writers
Fictivize gives authors the tools to build an audience as they write:
- Publish Episode by Episode: Share your story as you write it. No need to finish an entire manuscript before getting it in front of readers.
- Build Your Audience Early: Start connecting with readers from your very first episode. Get feedback, build momentum, and grow your following as your story develops.
- Focus on Writing: Our clean, distraction-free editor lets you concentrate on what matters most — your story. We handle the formatting, distribution, and discovery.
- Track Your Progress: See how your stories are performing with reader analytics. Understand what resonates and refine your craft with real data.
- Retain Your Rights: You own your work. Fictivize provides the platform, but your stories remain yours.
The Team Behind Fictivize
Alex Jauch — Founder
Alex Jauch is the founder of Fictivize and a lifelong advocate for accessible storytelling. With a background in software engineering and a passion for fiction, Alex recognized that the tools available to independent authors had not kept pace with how people actually consume content today.
Readers are accustomed to episodic entertainment through podcasts, streaming series, and social media narratives. Yet fiction publishing still largely operates on the model of complete, finished works. Fictivize bridges that gap by giving writers a platform purpose-built for serialized content and giving readers a modern, engaging way to discover new fiction.
Alex leads the technical architecture and product vision for Fictivize, building on years of experience in cloud-native application development, distributed systems, and user-experience design.
Looking Ahead
Fictivize is still in its early days, and we are building it with you in mind. Our roadmap is shaped by our community — the writers who trust us with their stories and the readers who spend their time here.
We are working on features like enhanced reader profiles, social reading lists, community discussions, and expanded notification options. We are also investing in our recommendation engine to help readers find stories tailored to their interests.
If you are a writer looking for a new way to share your work, or a reader searching for your next great read, we invite you to join us. Fictivize is a community, and communities are built one person at a time. Have questions or ideas? We would love to hear from you at info@fictivize.com.
